Getting Here

Taxis:

If you are considering taking a taxi to Magnific Rock, you're best to drop us an email. We can arrange taxis to pick you up from the Costa Rican border, Managua, San Juan Del Sur, Granada, Masaya or Rivas. If you're already in any of these areas and ready to leave, please take a look at the below table for the average fare cost.

LocationCost ($US)Transit Time
Managua $120 2.5 hours
Rivas $40 1 hour
San Juan Del Sur $35 - $40 1.2 hours
Costa Rican border $80 1.5 hours

Local Bus:
Alternatively, a local bus leaves from Rivas bus station to Las Salinas at 5am, 9am, 11am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm, 4:30pm and 5:00pm. The Rivas bus terminal is hectic to say the least. Look for the bus going to Las Salinas or Tola. Only get on these busses.

Local buses are very economical (~$2 US Dollars) and can take up to 2½ hours to arrive.

If traveling by bus, keep an eye out for the large white Magnific Rock sign on the left-hand side of the road. Depart the bus here and follow the road 1.5 kilometers to the end, where Magnific Rock is located.

**Bob recommends not taking a local 'chicken' bus during Semana Santa and other holiday periods as they're very cramped and often won't stop to pick up more people.
